Jonathan Goring jumps ship

The former head of Capita Symons Jonathan Goring, has been appointed the new managing director of housing contractor Lovell – part of the Morgan Sindall Group.

The appointment sees Goring depart from Laing O’Rourke where he has been head of major projects for just three months.

Mr Goring will join Morgan Sindall’s affordable housing subsidiary in June , replacing the retiring MD Stewart Davenport.

Goring, a former professional sailor  left Capita Symonds two years ago to help quadruple Olympic gold medalist Ben Ainslie prepare a bid for a British America’s Cup team, where he was until joining Laing O Rourke.

At the time of departure he had led Capita’s successful bid to become the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) strategic partner, winning a  £400m-plus outsourcing contract. Prior to leading the MoD bid, Goring was managing director of Capita’s construction consultancy arm, Capita Symonds, for six years. He took up the MoD bid role full-time in January 2013.
