SNC-Lavalin agrees deal for new UK hub in London

Professional services and project management company SNC-Lavalin has signed a long-term agreement with Landsec for a new UK hub within the Nova North Building in Victoria, London.

Following its acquisition of WS Atkins plc on in July 2017, SNC-Lavalin is investing in the new office to support its plans for growth in the UK market and continue its strong presence for its London client-base. It will also facilitate bringing together over 1,000 people from across SNC-Lavalin and its Atkins, Faithful+Gould and Acuity businesses into a modern working space.

Nick Roberts, president of Atkins, said: “We’re focused on building a strong, unified and growing business in the UK.  The decision to invest in a new UK hub in London is a positive statement from SNC-Lavalin about the significance of the UK to the company’s future aspirations. It provides a great foundation to further combine the market-leading strengths from our two organisations, and ensures we can continue to provide our clients with a high-quality customer experience and world-class project delivery.”

Philip Hoare, chief executive of SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business in the UK and Europe, added: “We are striving to play our part in improving productivity and growth in the UK, as well as within our wider industry sector. A core component of this will be the digital transformation agenda, where more than ever innovation, collaboration and disruption will be key to success. Nova North offers us a modern, efficient and flexible working environment in central London from where we can drive these efforts.”

Nova, Victoria contains world-class office space, contemporary apartments and Nova Food - 17 restaurants from top chefs. It is home to companies across the legal, technology, finance, commodities, media and logistics sectors. Set across 11 floors, Nova North provides more than 184,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office space in the heart of London’s Victoria.

With around 8,500 people, SNC-Lavalin is one of the largest Canadian employers in the UK. The company will move from its current London offices in Euston Tower into the Nova North Building in the first quarter of 2019.

Matthew Flood, commercial director, London Portfolio, Landsec, said: “We are really excited to welcome SNC-Lavalin to Nova, Victoria. By offering world-class office space alongside top-quality bars, restaurants and food outlets, we’ve been able to create an exciting area for both work and leisure which has resonated with a great range of businesses.”
