Faithful+Gould has appointed James Butler as new managing director – an appointment that rewards homegrown talent by promoting from within the business.

Butler joined Faithful+Gould as a graduate in 2007 and has progressed through the company in a number of roles - most recently as UK win work director. He has contributed significantly to a strategy which has delivered considerable growth and an increased focus on working with the wider SNC-Lavalin Group, including Atkins, to offer broader end-to-end services to clients.

He now steps into the role of MD as his predecessor Jon Sealy moves into a new global position to drive growth in project and programme management for SNC-Lavalin, following a successful 30-year career at Faithful+Gould.

Richard Robinson, Atkins UK & Europe CEO, said: “James is a great example of someone who has embraced a number of opportunities to develop a fulfilling and rewarding career within the business. I’m looking forward to working with him more closely as he and the team continue their impressive growth trajectory.”

Butler looked forward to his new role and said: “Ongoing, our focus will not change as we continue to deliver an excellent service for our clients and the communities we serve, while supporting and developing our people within a positive, inclusive and collaborative culture. We will also continue to be progressive in our approach, recognising the need to be forward looking and agile as our clients and the wider industry strive – at every level - to be more socially and environmentally conscious.”
