Smart infrastructure focus for FIDIC 2018 in Berlin

The 2018 annual conference of international engineering federation FIDIC, taking in Berlin from 9-11 September 2018, will focus on mobility and smart infrastructure.

More than 800 delegates from the global construction and infrastructure sector are expected to attend the high-profile international event, which has attracted an array of leading speakers from the sector. As well as some of the top industry CEOs from across the world, the conference will also hear from leading funding organisations like the World Bank, Asian Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as business and policy experts, including international economists, planners, engineers and other key construction and infrastructure experts.

Urban mobility and smart city design offers significant business opportunities for both public and private investment and the conference will explore these. Economic growth and rapid urban expansion has put tremendous strain on infrastructure and new solutions are being sought and delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the way forward while networking with key players from the sector.

Against a background of technology directly impacting public and private transport, healthcare, energy, retail, tourism and many other industries, the conference will examine the impact that these developments are having on infrastructure and today’s modern cities. How will these changes and the increased digital inter-connectivity, impact future infrastructure, working and living spaces? FIDIC 2018 in Berlin will provide some of the answers.

The conference is an ideal opportunity to find out how the consultancy and engineering industry is rising to key challenges and exploring new ways to partner with clients, investors and constructors.
