Balfour Beatty appoints Mark Bullock as UK construction services CEO

Balfour Beatty appoints Mark Bullock as CEO of UK construction services, as part of changes to its group executive committee.

Balfour Beatty has appointed Mark Bullock as chief executive officer of its UK construction services business, as part of a number of changes to the company’s group executive committee.

Bullock, formerly the company’s chief executive officer for rail and utilities, joined the company in 2012 as managing director of Balfour Beatty’s UK rail business. He replaces Dean Banks as chief executive officer, UK construction services, who leaves to take on a new role in Australia, after a short handover period.

Matthew Steele, previously managing director of gas and water, has taken on the role of managing director of rail and utilities, whilst also continuing his leadership of Balfour Beatty’s gas and water business where he has driven improved commercial arrangements and delivery programmes for key contracts and customers.

In the US, Leon Blondin, chief executive of US buildings, is promoted to chief executive officer, US operations, having transformed US buildings into one of Balfour Beatty’s highest performing business units. Assuming leadership of US buildings, US civils and US functional shared services, Blondin will provide overall leadership and co-ordination in the US.

The company says these changes will help support the successful execution of thousands of schemes delivered by Balfour Beatty across the UK and US, which will support communities, create infrastructure, and enable economic growth.
