THIS WEDNESDAY: TOP US engineering body CEO to feature in live interview

The Infrastructure Intelligence Live series of events continues on Wednesday 9 March 2022 at 2pm with a live interview with the president and CEO of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), Linda Bauer Darr.

ACEC is the largest national organisation of engineers engaged in the practice of consulting engineering in the USA, with 51 state and regional member organisations representing more than 5,800 independent engineering firms throughout the United States. 

Linda Bauer Darr is one of the leading figures in the United States engineering, construction and infrastructure sector and her insights on US president Joe Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure plans to rebuild America’s roads, bridges and rails, expand access to clean drinking water, invest in high-speed internet, tackle the climate crisis, advance environmental justice and invest in ‘left behind’ communities should be well worth listening to.

The ACEC is rightly well regarded for the success of its political advocacy on behalf of the US engineering sector and Bauer Darr is a key part of that success. An experienced CEO with a successful history of working in the engineering, transportation, trucking and rail industry, she leads the ACEC at one of the most exciting times in its history. Her organisation has been closely involved with the discussions and negotiations around president Biden’s infrastructure plans which led to the recent passing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

In conversation with Infrastructure Intelligence editor Andy Walker, Bauer Darr will reflect on the plans which are set to rebuild America’s infrastructure and reshape the economy, fixing thousands of miles of roads and tens of thousands of bridges, while also addressing climate change and racial inequities and raising corporate taxes.
