The government’s Infrastructure Carbon Review (ICR), published  in November 2013, estimated that the UK infrastructure industry could realise efficiency savings worth £1.5bn by cutting its carbon emissions. Anglian Water carbon manager David Riley will explain how by offering insight into his company’s own low carbon journey.

Growing threats posed by climate change and population growth combined with regulatory pressure on costs and greenhouse gas legislation demanded action. David Riley and Mark Enzer will explain how Anglian Water responded by promoting a new culture of carbon awareness, communicating the link between carbon reduction and commercial performance to the company’s directors, investors and staff. Hear how Anglian Water set out its low carbon vision, grew a low carbon skills set and incentivised innovation to achieve it. Project examples will show how carbon and cost savings were advanced in ever greater leaps as confidence grew.
