Top speakers lined up for FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference

A top line up of leading industry experts is being assembled for the 2021 FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference which takes place online on Friday 10 and Monday 13 September. 

The conference, Investing in future infrastructure - governance and leadership in a post-pandemic world, will look at the global need for high-quality and sustainable infrastructure and in the context of a world coming out of the Covid crisis.

International engineering federation FIDIC is assembling a top line up of industry experts to speak at the event. These include Borge Brende, president of the World Economic Forum, Mark Thurston, CEO at HS2, Enzo de Laurentiis, chief procurement officer at the World Bank, Chris Chijiutomi, head of infrastructure at CDC Group and Richard Abel, managing director - UK climate investments at Macquarie Group.

Also speaking at the two-day event will be Louise Adams, group COO at Aurecon Group Australia, Anthony Bouchard, president and COO at CDM Smith, Mike Haigh, chairman of Mott MacDonald Group, Jens-Peter Saul, group Benoit Clocheret, CEO of Artelia Group, Robin Greenleaf, president of Architectural Engineers Inc, George  Chukwulewa Okoroma, president of ACE Nigeria, with many more to announce over the coming weeks.

The event will consider the challenges faced by both the public and private sectors in developing successful projects and maintaining high-performing infrastructure assets in a rapidly changing world of digitisation, energy transition, climate change, geo-politics and growing societal needs. The conference will also take a deep dive into how the industry addresses the planning, funding and delivery of sustainable infrastructure as well as examining the leadership – business, industry and political – to make it happen. 

FIDIC chief executive Dr Nelson Ogunshakin said: “I’m delighted that we are attracting leaders from influential organisations like the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, HS2, Macquarie Group, Mott MacDonald and Aurecon to our annual global infrastructure event.
