TfL inviting bids for £500m roads and structures framework

Transport for London has invited bids for three places on its framework contract for delivering £400-£500m of highways, structures and tunnel refurbishment across TfL's red route network over the next four years.

Design and build teams of consultants and contractors are being encouraged to enter the running due to high levels of design input required, according to reports in Construction News.

The work is part of TfL's £4bn roads modernisation programme planned up to 2020. This latest framework will cover major road reconstruction, including junction remodelling, plus maintenance and refurbishment of bridges and tunnels.

Firms have until 11 July to register their interest in tendering for the places on the new framework, which will have an option of extension for a further two years due to the expected length of some projects.
