North West Construction Hub to retender high value framework

Procurement group North West Construction Hub (NWCH) is holding a soft market testing day on 11 July in Manchester as part of its preparation to re-tender its high value construction framework in September. The framework, which currently comprises six contractors - BAM Construct UK, Galliford Try, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Morgan Sindall and Wates - currently applies to projects of over £9m.

The hub was established in 2009 in response to central government’s drive to improve efficiencies within the public sector and is led by a board comprising of representatives from public sector organisations across the North West.

Explaining the purpose of the event, NWCH said it “would like to involve you in discussions on how to take the next generation of frameworks forward, making them future-proof and attractive to clients and contractors alike. We will be giving you information on what has been achieved to date, and asking for your thoughts and ideas on eg market conditions. We are also keen to bring innovation to the next generation of our frameworks so we would like your input to ensure that in the future they offer a solution to market challenges.”

The event is open to representatives of all companies who would like to share their knowledge and experience and are considering bidding for the high value framework. The market testing day takes place at Manchester’s Central Library on 11 July.
