Sue Percy CBE, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation chief executive

Leading construction and infrastructure professionals have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours' list.

An extensive list of worthy winners includes:

  • Sue Percy, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation chief executive, who has been awarded a CBE for services to transport.
  • Dr Anne Kemp, technical director at Atkins, who has been awarded an OBE for services to digital construction innovation.
  • Dr Louise Brooke-Smith, a strategic planning consultant at Arcadis, who has been awarded an OBE in recognition of her enduring contribution to the built environment.

Sue Percy said: “I am thrilled and honoured to have been recognised in this way. I passionately believe that highways and transportation play a central and vital role in supporting a prosperous, equitable and healthy society and I will continue to champion our sector and those who work in it. My award reflects the support and hard work of the great people I work with; my colleagues, CIHT trustees and members, and our stakeholders.”

Dr Anne Kemp said: “I’m so thrilled to receive this award and grateful to be working during a time when it’s widely accepted that we need a golden thread of information to help us create and run a built environment that supports a better quality of living for all of us.”

Dr Louise Brooke-Smith said: “Receiving the OBE is a fantastic honour and I’m privileged to be in a position where I can continue to make a valuable contribution to our sector. From legal and regulatory policy changes to advocating genuine inclusion and growing an awareness of the importance of social and environmental sustainability, working in the built environment sector is as diverse and challenging as it is rewarding. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next 35 years brings for the industry and how I can continue to support it!”
