Sir Edward Lister reappointed as chair of Homes England

Sir Edward Lister has been reappointed as chair of Homes England for a further three years, following his previous three-year term as chair of the agency.

Announcing the reappointment, communities secretary James Brokenshire said: “This government is committed to delivering 300,000 homes a year to ensure everyone across the country has access to a decent, affordable, secure place to call home. Sir Edward has brought his experience, influence and thoughtfulness to bear in helping us to bring real change to the housing market, and so I am delighted to reappoint him as chair of Homes England.”

Lister said: “Homes England has set out an ambitious mission to respond to the housing challenges across England and I am proud to have been reappointed as its chairman. I look forward to continuing this work with colleagues across the business and with the wider housing sector, big and small, to deliver the homes this country needs.”

Lister, as chair of Homes England, is responsible for providing effective strategic leadership of the agency. He is also a non-executive director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.. A former leader of Wandsworth Council, his previous roles include chief of staff to the mayor of London during Boris Johnson's tenure, and chair of the Old Oak Common Development Corporation.
