Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure has appointed Dave Spencer as managing director from June 2017.
Spencer, who initially joined Capita in 2001, was on the executive board of Capita Property and Infrastructure from 2007 until 2014. He rejoins Capita from Amey where he is currently managing director of its consulting business. Spencer, who also previously worked at Urban Vision Partnership and Capita Symonds, succeeds Geoff Kneen, who is leaving Capita to become a shareholder in a small private equity-backed business.
Spencer said: “The opportunity to return to Capita at this time is very exciting, and I look forward to leading the team through its next stage of growth. The new real estate and infrastructure business has a clear purpose and mission – to help our clients create tomorrow’s prosperous and connected places across the United Kingdom. I’m impressed by the new propositions the team have been developing, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Steve Sharp, executive officer at Capita, said, “We are delighted to welcome back Dave from Amey. Under Geoff Kneen’s leadership we’ve transformed Capita’s real estate and infrastructure business, enhancing capabilities and ensuring that we’re positioned in the best way to deliver services to clients. Dave is the ideal candidate to build on that success and take us forward.”
Speaking to Infrastructure Intelligence in October 2014, Spencer said: “I’m a civil engineer. Infrastructure is what I love and I am very interested in how we get the most out of our existing infrastructure and in particular running it smarter and more efficiently.”
