New faces at DM Hall and CPMG

Christina Agathangelou, Jenny Hale and Matthew Vicary

DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading firms of Chartered Surveyors, has reinforced its building surveying capability with the appointment of experienced building surveyor Martyn Stevens as an Associate.

He will be based in the firm’s Perth office with a brief to cover Perthshire, Tayside and all points north.

A graduate of Heriot Watt University, with over 18 years in the building surveying industry, Martyn qualified with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2015 and worked for a number of professional firms, based for the most part, in Tayside.

He said: “In my new role I am undertaking a wider scope of work. It is exciting to play a part in DM Hall’s fresh, different approach and I am greatly enjoying being part of our eleven-strong building surveying team.”

Martin Elsby, a Partner in DM Hall who leads the firm’s Building Consultancy team, said: “In Martyn we have a talented, experienced building surveyor who I believe will greatly reinforce our client-led approach.

“I am certain that with his expertise and insightful approach he will provide the highest level of professional service to our clients in the north of Scotland.”

DM Hall has offices across Scotland and earlier this summer expanded into the North of England with the acquisition of Hyde Harrington, an established firm of Chartered Surveyors based in Carlisle and Kendal.

Meanwhile, award-winning architectural practice CPMG continues to expand, strengthening its ranks in Nottingham with three new hires for its city centre headquarters.

Matthew Vicary and Christina Agathangelou increase the design expertise in the architecture team, while Jenny Hale steps into a new marketing role, set to transform CPMG’s strategic communications.

Both Matthew and Christina are already hands-on in their new positions as senior architect and architect, working on projects across CPMG’s expansive portfolio of education projects, from feasibility and conception through to delivery.

Bringing more than a decade of experience between them, their respective industry experience and skill is set to strengthen CPMG’s architectural capabilities even further.

Matthew said: “Joining CPMG’s team in Nottingham, the vibrant office culture and close-knit team have made it really easy to get settled into my new role.

"The range of projects across the portfolio is really impressive, and I’m excited to delve further into everything the team is currently working on.

"In particular, to learn and contribute to the lead CPMG are taking on sustainability, designing and delivering low to zero carbon projects.”

Jenny added: “It’s an exciting time to join the CPMG team and take on a key role in driving the strategy and purpose of the business forward. Together with the team, we’re taking this opportunity to really reflect on our people, purpose and place ethos to create a new strategy that truly showcases what CPMG is all about.

“Work is already underway in pushing the CPMG brand into the future and showcasing the amazing work our architects and interior designers produce – and the difference they make to communities while doing it.”
