New campaign launched to help firms embrace digital change

Ask any company working in the infrastructure sector about the key challenges facing their business and it’s certain that increasing digitalisation and the application of new technology would be at or near the top of the list.

Professional services firms operating in the infrastructure sector, indeed all firms working with the sector, will need to work smarter and more efficiently in the future to keep up with the pace of change. Embracing digital is a business necessity that is set to transform the way firms work for ever. So, where is your firm at when it comes to going digital?

If you don’t know where to start in answering that question, or just need assistance in working out what to do digitally and how, then help is at hand in the shape of a new campaign launched this week by infrastructure software solutions providers Bentley Systems at its Year in Infrastructure 2018 conference being held in London.

Bentley’s Going Digital campaign poses the question: How are you going digital? Designed to help organisations better understand best practices based on a digital advancement framework, the campaign provides information and resources to help firms start or increase the integration of digital components across the project lifecycle to “accelerate the pace of the possible”, as Bentley puts it.

Closing the productivity gap with other industries is a crucial aim for the construction sector and governments and other project funders around the world want to see improvements in an area where digital technology has a massive role to play. Bentley say they are keen to work with firms to help them get the most value out of data in a connected data environment to gain insights, improve asset performance and achieve better business outcomes.

As part of their Going Digital campaign, Bentley is looking for firms who are willing to have their projects showcased in print and digitally. The campaign includes a Going Digital microsite that has a free digital assessment tool that firms can use and videos featuring Bentley users.

Bentley Systems CEO Greg Bentley said: “People talk about “digital transformation” as if it is a one-time occurrence, but in fact it is a continuous process that has been going on for some time and will continue into the foreseeable future. The gains from going digital in infrastructure project delivery and asset performance are massive and so are the opportunities. We at Bentley Systems are ready to work with firms to accelerate their advancement in going digital.”
