Waterman appoints new geotechnical director

Waterman Group has appointed Ali Raza as its geotechnical director to boost the expertise of its geotechnical discipline in London.

Raza, a chartered civil engineer with 14 years’ experience in geotechnical and structural engineering, joins Waterman from Buro Happold where he was pivotal in the expansion of their ground engineering business. Most recently he led the largest basement design on the US east coast in Boston as well as the below ground works for the Lots Road Power Station redevelopment. 

During his career, Raza has managed a wide range of challenging and high-profile commercial and infrastructure projects across London, Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East.  

Following his appointment, Raza said: “I am very excited to join Waterman for the opportunity to work with such a strong team at an exciting time in the company's growth. I look forward to helping develop the group’s geotechnical and ground engineering aspects of the business within a broad range of thrilling projects with my new colleagues."
