Tarmac boosts local road network efficiency with new asset management service

Tarmac has launched a bespoke asset management service offering local authorities comprehensive highways condition reports, help to unlock investment and a preventative maintenance model to combat network decline. 

The company has forged a strategic partnership with leading highways data specialist Gaist, and Metis, a civil engineering consultancy specialising in highway asset management.  Working collaboratively, the trio has the proven capability to offer an end-to-end asset management service, from data collection and analysis through to securing funding and scheme delivery.

Tarmac and Gaist previously collaborated successfully on a four-year programme of work with Blackpool Council.  The comprehensive revitalisation of the town’s roads dramatically improved public opinion, while the adoption of a whole-life investment and treatment strategy is anticipated to save £100 million over the next 25 years.
