Alan Baxter & Associates LLP

Alan Baxter’s civil and structural engineering work covers the whole range of projects. Recent completions include the first, £45m, phase of work at Tate Britain, which is focused on improving the quality of the public’s experience at Tate Britain and realising the historic building’s potential.

Other major schemes have included Scale Lane Bridge in Hull, and the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. Its conservation team is advising on the heritage impacts of the electrification of the Great Western and Midland Main Lines, while their urban designers and engineers are master planning the redevelopment of significant stations on the national railway network.

MLM Consulting Engineers Ltd

Growing by over 25% growth in turnover and employees, the firm has expanded its London team and opened two new offices. It achieved ‘One to Watch’ status in the Best Companies to Work For survey and had success with several design awards and were highly commended in the NCE Consultant of the Year.

It is now working on some of the largest regeneration developments in London and developing our overseas projects to account for 10% of our workload. The firm has invested heavily in its 3D Modelling and BIM capability and is promoting use of BIM in the industry via the ACE working committee.

It works on a wide range of projects bringing a creative, practical and collaborative approach to design and is often involved in projects at an earlier stage, which enables it to introduce ideas that can be integrated into the design.

The firm likes to incorporate innovative structural solutions driven by  enthusiasm for design, sustainability and efficiency. It continues to expand its portfolio of challenging private residential projects whilst researching new materials including cardboard for structural use, working internationally on humanitarian projects and building art installations.
