ACE webinar to help industry prepare for ‘No Deal’ Brexit

With the exact terms of Brexit still no closer to a resolution and politicians in Westminster opting to give Theresa May more time to somehow find a deal which works for everyone, the industry is facing continued uncertainty as the clock ticks towards 29 March 2019.

Taking place on Thursday 31 January 2019 at 12.00pm, a live webinar will help businesses take the tangible steps to prepare for a ‘no deal’ Brexit and ensure contingency arrangements made are both appropriate and effective.

Open to members of ACE, CECA, CPA and the EIC, the free webinar is hosted by ACE chief executive Hannah Vickers. Joining her are Siobhan Aarons, global customs & trade counsel at Delphi Technology, Will Buckby, a partner at Beale & Co, former head of infrastructure UK and SPAD to Alistair Darling, Geoffrey Spence and ACE director of policy and external affairs, Julian Francis.

Together they will cut through the political noise and give an update on the current situation, focus on what trading on WTO rules means in practice, as well as the key contractual issues businesses working in our sector should be aware of.

Although free to members of the business associations listed above, places are limited to ensure the smooth running of the webinar and booking is essential. Sign-up here and find out more.

Commenting on the prospect of a No Deal Brexit, Construction Leadership Council chair Andy Mitchell said: "The prospect of the UK leaving the EU without a formal agreement is probably less likely than most other outcomes, but whilst it remains a possibility, a responsible construction industry has to prepare for it. We owe this to those who work in our firms, our clients and to our own suppliers to ensure that we understand what the key risks are and act to mitigate them."

This is the second webinar in the series, with the first focusing on the economic situation and skills issues. This can now be viewed above.
