New CEO for Skanska as Mike Putnam stands down

Skanska has announced that Mike Putnam will step down from his role as President and CEO of the company, to be replaced by Gregor Craig (pictured) with immediate effect. Putnam has led Skanska as its CEO for the past seven years and leaves to take up a number of non-exec directorship positions elsewhere, but will still work with Skanska to support the new President and CEO, the company said.

Putnam has gained recognition as a leader in areas of sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and health, safety and wellbeing at Skanska and across the UK construction industry. He is co-chair of the government’s Green Construction Board and a member of the Construction Leadership Council.

Skanska AB executive vice president, Anders Danielsson, said: “I would like to thank Mike for his great contribution to Skanska over many years. He has decided that he wants to move to the next stage of his career and we wish him well.”

Gregor Craig joined Skanska's executive team in 2015, having led different infrastructure and building operations since joining Skanska in 2003. He is a member of Skanska’s Global Safety Leadership Team, the Skanska Infrastructure Development board and, externally, a member of the Build UK board.

"We have built a great reputation within the industry and we are brimming with hard-working, ambitious and talented people. Even with our current industry-leading performance, I believe that we have still more potential to demonstrate to our customers and I look forward to playing my part to unleash it.”
