CIHT chief executive tell ACOonAir Highways Hangout at the recent Highways UK event about the challenge facing the highways sector as it gears up to meet the new workload boom.

As 1800 transportation professional descended on London's Grosvenor House Hotel for the annual CIHT Annual Luncheon last week, the talk was of how to meet the challenge of a burgeoning strategic highways sector which at last has a long term funding plan.

Speaking to Antony Oliver in the ACOonAir Highways Hangout at the recent Highways UK, CIHT chief executive Sue Percy pointed out that gearing up for this new demand was the critical for businesses across the sector. 

"If you look at what is expected over a relatively short period of time it is a huge challenge," says Percy. "The supply chain is certainly having to consider very carefully how it is going to do that."
